Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. About this policy

PBS Finder ("we", "us", "our") operates the website pbsfinder.com.au. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for operating our practitioner directory service. This includes:

Practitioners: name, email address, NDIS practitioner ID, company affiliation, suburb, state, postcode, specialisations, age groups served, service delivery modes, bio, and contact preferences.

Optional, voluntarily self-declared attributes: practitioners may choose to share their PBS capability level, gender, cultural communities they have experience working with, and languages spoken. These fields are optional, never required, and exist solely to help participants find a practitioner who is a good fit. The cultural communities field describes a practitioner’s working experience, not their personal background. Practitioners can change or remove any of these at any time through their profile. We do not use these attributes for any purpose other than display on the directory.

Visitors: we do not require visitors to create an account or provide personal information to search the directory. We may collect anonymised usage data through standard web analytics.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

Directory operations: to operate, maintain, and display the PBS Finder directory, including displaying practitioner profiles publicly, facilitating contact enquiries between visitors and providers, and verifying practitioner credentials where applicable.

Communication: to contact registered practitioners about their accounts, platform updates, new features, service changes, and relevant opportunities within the disability and behaviour support sector.

Analytics and service improvement: to analyse usage patterns, search trends, and service demand across regions and specialisations in order to improve our platform and understand the needs of the PBS sector.

Market research and industry insights: to produce and publish anonymised, aggregated reports and insights about the positive behaviour support sector, such as workforce distribution, specialisation demand, and service coverage across Australia. Individual practitioners will not be identifiable in any published research.

Related products and services: to develop, market, and operate related products and services under the PBS Finder brand, which may include but are not limited to practitioner verification services, referral management tools, professional development resources, and workforce planning tools.

4. Disclosure of information

Practitioner profile information (name, location, specialisations, service modes, bio, and company affiliation) is displayed publicly on the directory. We do not sell raw personal information to third parties.

We may share information with our hosting and infrastructure providers (Vercel, Supabase) as necessary to operate the service, with trusted partners who assist us in delivering related products and services, or where required or authorised by law. Any third parties who receive personal information are required to handle it in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.

5. Data storage and security

Personal information is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and access controls. Our database is hosted by Supabase with servers located in the Asia-Pacific region. While we take reasonable steps to protect personal information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Registered practitioners can update their profile through the dashboard. To request deletion of your account and associated data, or to make a privacy complaint, please contact us at the email address below.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
